Rising star Saeed Al Ali gives his best performance yet

  • Daman Speed Academy drivers in good form at season curtain raiser at Al Ain Raceway
  • Non-championship event sets scene for 2014-2015 UAE Rotax Max Challenge

Al Ain Raceway Circuit hosted a pre-season Invitational Karting race last weekend, where Daman Speed Academy driver, Saeed Al Ali, 15, astonished everyone with his speed and consistency; and saw him reach the podium of Rotax Max Junior category in 3rd place; marking his best performance in the DSA yet.

From the outset Saeed Al Ali has shown great promise as demonstrated by his battle for a podium position last season. He has a combination of raw talent, a positive attitude and eagerness to learn from the Academy instructors, which has paved the way for him to compete with the big names in his class at the top levels. Saeed continued testing throughout the summer period and the hard work paid off in Al Ain last weekend, with Al Ali securing his place among the top drivers in the class.

Daman Speed Academy was launched last year as a joint initiative between Daman and Abu Dhabi Racing. Its objective is to prepare the next generation of Emirati track stars who through their performance and ambition, will inspire Emirati youth into harnessing their skills to reach their goals and aspirations in the future.

Khaled Al Qubaisi said: “We have begun to reap the rewards sown last season with the foundation of the academy. Whilst the race in the Al Ain Raceway was an invitational race to prepare the drivers and teams for the forthcoming season of the UAE Rotax Max Challenge, we saw enough to give us a glimpse of what the championship has in store for us! I am very happy for Saeed and for the rest of the kids; I believe winning races with Daman Speed Academy in the upcoming season is just a matter of time.”

The invitational race has put the spot light on some of the most promising Emirati talents such as Daman Speed Academy’s student Ahmed Al Khamisi who won the best novice trophy finishing his Rotax Max junior race in 7th place in front of his colleague Amna Khaled Al Qubaisi who, as always, showed good performance in class.

The UAE Rotax Max Challenge 2014-2015 season kicks off on the 10th of October at Al Ain Raceway.
