Sodi drivers dominate WSK Super Master Series

8 March 2016

Saturday was a white-out for the WSK Super Master Series in Castelletto di Branduzzo as snow and very low temperatures caused the racing to be cancelled, and the Prefinals were started in the order of the Qualifying results.

The show didn’t fall short of expectations with Sodi drivers Anthony Abbasse and Bas Lammers taking a formation finish in the end of a tight contest, with aother Sodi driver Jeremy Iglesias also coming in 4th.

Qualifying: The Italian Paolo De Conto (CRG/Maxter) was the fastest. He won the recent event at Adria and, also in northern Italy, he was still the driver to beat. He set a time of 46.491s, beating his fellow countryman Marco Ardigò (Tony Kart/Vortex) into 2nd, who completed his fastest lap in 46.690s. Behind them were the Frenchman Anthony Abbasse (Sodikart/TM) and the Italian Flavio Camponeschi (CRG/Parilla), 4th.

Finals:  French driver, Abasse was sandwiched between De Conto and his team-mate, the Dutchman Bas Lammers, immediately laid the cards on the table and took the lead of the Final which, up to that moment, had seen many leaders. Abbasse deserved this victory, which is even more valuable for the Sodi Team taking in consideration the fact that Lammers was the runner-up ahead of De Conto.

“If there are opponents behind me I should be worried about? Yes, of course: all the pack!” the excellent Abbasse said about the top drivers in the KZ Final.
