- The willingness of SODI to reconnect with the world’s highest standard of karting took shape in the early season events.
- Both SODI Racing Team drivers have already achieved top performances at the highest level in KZ2.
The leading kart manufacturer, SODI has chosen a rational basis for the return to the highest level. In contrast to the excessive financial resources used by some of its competitors, the French brand has chosen hard and purposeful work in it’s approach to competition.
For starters, the Research & Development Department now collaborates more closely with the Competition Department. Combined with a lot of winter testing, this close collaboration is already very convincing in light of the performance of the new SODI equipment.
The “new” SODI Racing Team is more rigorous and more professional today, with values in line with the general spirit of the company.
Finally, the SODI Racing Team has a unique driver lineup with Arnaud Kozlinski joining Anthony Abbasse on the track. The ambition that drives the two champions pays off both in racing and in testing. Everyone wants to excel and the team is moving ahead in leaps and bounds.
Results
The SODI Racing Team has taken a big step this weekend at Castelletto. Kozlinski opened the hostilities on a dry track by posting the second best time in timed qualifying, 37 thousandths off pole position. Anthony Abbasse then won Prefinal A on a wet track, finishing 5” in front of the reigning World Champion, with the fastest lap at the end. He finished the event on the second step of the podium in a final run in a downpour. Abbasse currently holds a strong second place in the championship standings, while there are still many more points to be distributed.
Since the beginning of the season, SODI has performed with impressive regularity, regardless of the conditions in the top category of international karting. The potential for full development at the SODI Racing Team suggests great opportunities in the important competitions to come.
